Whatsapp new Mention feature

Thank Goodness! WhatsApp finally added the "Mention" feature, that makes Group chats more lively and interesting. This feature is what we know as tag on Facebook, it informs you when you get direct message or a reply from someone to you in a Group chat. Either Offline or Online, you will get a notification message that someone in the group sent you, or replyed a message on the WhatsApp group.

How does it work? How do i mention people on WhatsApp group chats

When you want to reply to your friends post on a group, simply add the symbol @ in the text area, and a list of all users in that group chat will appear. All you have to do is select the name of the person you want to mention, or instead, when you type the @ symbol just input the first digits of the person name and the names with that alphabet will appear, select the person you want and if you select the name, it will display as an hyperlinked text, something like this;

Then send, and the person name will be mentioned in the group, and also he/she will be alerted.

After the mentioned name is sent, it will reffer to a link that links to the person WhatsApp contact information, when clicked.

The mention feature is live and available in the Latest version of WhatsApp Beta v2.16.272
