The Chinese Smartphone makers, Huawei, has just launched a new entry-level smartphone to the market. The company calls it - Huawei Y6s.

The device comes preinstalled with Google Mobile Services (GMS) and a "MediaTek chipset" - something we don't see quite often on Huawei phones. If you have used Huawei's brand before, you would know that they only make use of a Snapdragon or Kirin chipset.

So why is Huawei Y6s quite different? Maybe this is the company's own strategy of overcoming restrictions with Qualcomm chipset. And if you would ask me - this is the best bet for a budget smartphone.

Display & Design

Huawei Y6s comes with a 6.09-inch LCD display, with a 720 by 1560 pixels HD+ screen resolution, a aspect ratio of 19.5:9 and a 282 PPI density.

The phone features a 156.3 x 73.5 x 8mm dimension and weighs 150g. As for the color option, it leaves you with two colors to choose from, Orchid Blue and Starry Black.

Performance and Storage

Huawei Y6s is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P35 (MT6765) processor and a non-removable Li-Po 3020mAh battery. The phone runs on Android 9 (Pie) that is based on EMUI 9.1 skin.

So what do we have here in the memory. Huawei Y6s bags a 3GB RAM and a 32GB internal memory that is expandable upto 512GB via microSD card.

Camera

For photography, Huawei Y6s brings a 13MP camera with f/1.8 aperture. The camera features include LED flash, HDR and Panorama. On the front view, it spots a 8MP front shooter with f/2.0 aperture - originally made for selfies. The selfie camera also features a LED flash.

Connectivity

The phone supports dual SIM, 4G LTE and 3G. Other connectivity options on the phone include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, hotspot, GPS, FM Radio, NFC, Bluetooth v4.20, Micro-USB 2.0.
